Let me help you, as an Education Consultant, continue on a path of learning!
Learning is so important to children and staff.
With my support, your community of learners can develop key strategies in English and Maths to take your school on the next step in your educational journey.
Education Consultant
I received my bachelor's degree in education 20 years ago for primary teaching and went on to receive my master's degree with a focus in SEND.
I spent 17 years teaching, mainly in KS2, with both single and mixed age classes.
My specialisms came early on when I became an
ICT Leading teacher and then a Maths Specialist Teacher.
My experience led me to work in a variety of different contexts, including
small rural schools and larger London based schools.
Qualifications included a NPQSL and then NPQH.
My work in London also included: being a trainer for Espresso; supporting with the rollout of IWBs in schools; reviewing resources for Pearsons; becoming a National IT winner (which included a trip to the Houses Of Parliament and a cash prize for the school); and working with PG Tips on educational resources focused on sustainability.
A house move brought me to the Norfolk and Suffolk border where I was appointed as a
Director of Primary Improvement for a growing Trust.
This gave me experience over a variety of different schools and led me to introduce
Maths Mastery and Talk 4 Writing.
Within this role, we also developed a wider curriculum approach and
Monitoring Made Easy for the non-core subjects.
My next venture was in opening a brand new school in Norwich for 420 children.
The school began with just an EYFS classroom and then built up with further year groups.
This was an excellent opportunity and allowed me to work with the
New Schools Network on various projects.
Starting a new school meant that we set up our vision and values and worked hard on a full curriculum offer that progressed smoothly in skills and knowledge from Reception right up to Year 6.
While working as a Head, I also led English across 9 other Trust Schools. I have also been an inspector for both primary and secondary settings, while now I work with Trusts to support school improvement.
Throughout the years I have led many aspects of school life and excel in understanding how children and adults learn. This enables me to support schools with their English and Maths developments. I train staff in strategies based in pedogeological research approaches.
I have been part of the Learning without Limits network for a few years now and am a member of the Chartered College. My beliefs in aspects of great learning include cognitive load theory and metacognition. I am currently studying for my doctorate and have now finished work as an inspector.
When I'm not working with schools, I enjoy riding with my husband on our two horses, Zeus and Athena.
We also love adventure, so we climb mountains and run marathons.
We have been privileged to travel all over the world to experience new cultures.
I am also a passionate reader, with my favourite non-educational book being Pride and Prejudice and my most influential educational book being Gert Biesta's 'Good Education in an Age of Measurement: Ethics, Politics, Democracy'.
I offer a complimentary one-hour service to go over the needs of your school, staff and children.
I then recommend a plan for how I could support and offer quotes for this work.
I am available for:
half day rates e.g. 8.30-12.30 or 12.30 - 4.30
at £200
full day rates e.g. 8.30 - 4.30
at £375
I also offer a complete project service that includes rolling out a new strategy with an existing plan at 10 days for £3500
